Back into running! Yesssssss. Started this last Wednesday with the five minutes running/five minutes walking (day one? I think not!) and the best part is, no more blacklisted music! For all the time I was banned from running, I refused to listen to any music on my running playlist, which, believe me, has been sad and painful. It's been like a bad breakup. But we're on again. It's cool. We fine. Except, while it felt great to be running again, it certainly did not feel great to be instantly winded. Turns out there's no fooling three months of being sedentary! I almost don't even care that all of my running clothes are now skin-tight (it's still cold here, so I can get away with wearing big t-shirts over everything and still looking somewhat Dirty Dancerish, although at 5:30am, who's looking?). I even convinced Travis to try to run a race with me this summer, so that he can set a fitness goal instead of moping around about how he thinks he's fat. I even used that word, "moping," which kind of makes me an asshole, considering I was not-very-covertly corralling him into my selfish hobby. He laughed, which means he's committed. :)
Just gotta keep an eye on those knees and ankles, structural weak points you know.
In honor of the above mentioned playlist(s) - but also, sort of not, since all of my running music is comprised of obscene rap music - this week's '90s video is brought to you by Shirley Manson, Bruce Vig, et al, PS, please guys come back and start making CDs like this one again:
..A vast improvement over Courtney Love, gotta admit. Happy Sunday.
